About Adobe After Effects
Adobe After Effects is the industry-standard tool for video compositing, motion graphics design, and animation. It is used extensively in the post-production process of film making, television production and advertising. After Effects offers a powerful set of features and can be used for keying, tracking, compositing and animation. After Effects also functions as a basic non-linear editor, audio editor and media transcoder.
After Effects Background
After Effects was created by the Company of Science and Art (CoSA) in Providence, Rhode Island. CoSA along with After Effects was acquired by Aldus corporation in July 1993, which was then acquired by Adobe in 1994.
Features of After Effects
After Effects has extensive plug-in support and a wide variety of plugins exist such as particle systems for realistic effects for snow, rain, lightning, fire and more.
After Effects can render 3D effects and ships with Cinema 4D Lite. 2D layers can be converted to 3D layers and then moved and manipulated in 3D space. You can also create 3D cameras and then move and rotate those cameras in 3D space.
In addition to 3D effects, there are tools for slow motion, tracking 3D camera movements in a 2D shot, eliminating flicker and rigging lines, adding advanced color correction, translating timelines from Final Cut Pro and Avid, animating characters and countless visual effects.
